On January 16, 2016, demonstrators in California protested at the Oakland International Airport to draw attention to police murders in the Bay Area. The protest was part of a weekend of direct actions organized around the Reclaim MLK weekend.
March 23, 2015-Protesters blocked traffic and chained themselves to San Francisco’s Mission Police Station as part of an action that tied together gentrification and officer-involved shootings. This short film shows the action as it unfolded and includes interviews with family members of those killed by the police.
On December 4th, 2014, thousands of protesters shutdown large parts of New York City including the Holland Tunnel, the West Side Highway, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge, the Franklin D. Roosevelt East River Drive, Times Square and the Lincoln Tunnel to protest a grand jury and prosecutor’s failure to indict the police for killing Eric Garner. On November 28, 2014, protesters took to the streets of San Francisco to voice their collective anger with the lack of a trial in the shooting of Michael Brown.
